I'm working with a leading UK property consultancy that is looking to appoint an Associate-level Project Monitoring Surveyor to join its growing Project & Building Consultancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MRICS quantity surveyor to take responsibility for a diverse portfolio of development projects across the East Midlands and Eastern region, acting for a range of lenders, developers and investors. The portfolio is predominantly residential, with some mixed-use and PBSA developments.

You will lead a portfolio of development monitoring instructions, providing funders with independent advice throughout the development lifecycle, while also delivering cost consultancy and quantity surveying services on a range of projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing development monitoring commissions from pre-lending appraisal through to project completion.
  • Reviewing cost plans, development proposals, procurement strategies and project programmes.
  • Preparing detailed risk assessments and monitoring reports for banks and funders.
  • Undertaking regular site inspections and attending progress and valuation meetings.
  • Assessing drawdown requests and providing funding recommendations.
  • Preparing cost plans, estimates, valuations and final accounts.

About You

  • Quantity Surveying background and MRICS qualified.
  • Strong project monitoring experience, either within private practice, consultancy or a lender-focused environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the development process from feasibility through to practical completion.
  • Experience within residential development, mixed-use or commercial sectors.
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and report-writing skills.

This role offers the opportunity to join a highly regarded consultancy with a strong pipeline of lender and developer instructions, excellent career progression prospects and the chance to play a key role in growing the regional project monitoring offering. This is a hybrid role with the occasional requirement to work from the company's Birmingham office.

A salary up to £75,000 is on offer, plus car allowance, bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
