A well-established, growing construction & building consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Director of Building Surveying to join its London team. This is a senior leadership role with a clear opportunity to shape and grow a building surveying offering within an already successful multidisciplinary business. You will be working closely with 2 Senior Directors who have recently joined the company to develop its Project & Building Consultancy division. There is excellent potential to become a Director of the company in the near future as the team continues to grow.

The position is based in the City of London with flexible hybrid working and will suit an experienced chartered Building Surveyor who is comfortable balancing project delivery, professional services and team leadership.

The Role

You will take a leading role in delivering a wide range of project and professional building surveying services while also managing and developing a small team. The workload is varied and with both private and public sector clients. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Leading refurbishment, fit-out and redevelopment projects
  • Carrying out technical due diligence, dilapidations and building pathology work
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Supporting business development and helping grow the building surveying team
  • Managing and mentoring junior surveyors

About You

This opportunity will suit an ambitious Building Surveyor who is looking to step into a senior leadership role or someone already operating at Associate/Associate Director level. You should have:

  • MRICS qualification
  • Strong experience delivering both project and professional building surveying services
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior surveyors
  • Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
  • A commercial mindset and interest in helping grow a team
