We are currently looking for ambitious graduates to join one of the world\’s leading Investment Managers based in their London office.
Currently managing over £200bn in AUM, this firm develops customised investment strategies that address unique objectives, requirements and tolerance for risk. They develop solutions by leveraging their risk management tools and utilising a highly disciplined investment process that relies on fundamental analysis.
The primary responsibility of a junior investment accountant is to account and report on assigned client accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconcile all investment activity on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis to the bank and applicable portfolio management reports to ensure the integrity of reported data by the agreed upon due date.
- Prepare bank custody reconciliations on a monthly basis, accurately researching and resolving any out-of-balances between our internal accounting system and the custodian in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Portfolio Management, Performance Measurement and the client to ensure that all accounting/reporting needs are met and communicated to one\’s supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Prepare regulatory exhibits and tax reports on a quarterly and annual basis in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Access daily activity at the bank to properly review the accuracy of daily trade activity maintained within the accounting system inclusive of purchases, sales, coupon payments, and corporate actions.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred but not essential.
- Basic understanding of financial statements.
- Working knowledge of PCs, preferably Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with clients and staff.
- Good analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written form and orally.
