We are looking for a MET Technician to join the Citygate Team to carry out all bodyshop work in an efficient and safe manner, to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity.
Key responsibilities
- To work as part of the Bodyshop team to carry out repairs to customer and company vehicles in accordance with the work instruction and the manufacturers repair methods.
- Examining vehicles for damage other than that listed on the repair instruction, to list any additional damage found on the document supplied and pass the document to the Bodyshop controller.
- Examine vehicle repair instructions to determine vehicle location. Place all required protective items in the vehicle before moving the vehicle (i.e. seat covers, floor mats, etc.).
- Examine vehicles repair instructions carrying out repairs accordingly.
- Carry out each job within the budgeted time as set out on job card – to maintain own labour productivity.
- Working in accordance with workshop and dealership Health & Safety requirements.
- Working with colleagues to maintain workshop standards of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Taking personal responsibility for the daily maintenance of workshop equipment, and reports equipment defects or problems that need attention.
- Following key processes to achieve specified quality and efficiency targets.
- Working with the dealership to develop improved, more efficient processes.
- Attends specialised training as required (e.g. in new VM vehicles, technology or new workshop equipment).
- Works with colleagues and other teams across the dealership to provide a seamless service to customers (e.g. by informally observing and responding to the needs of customers who are not being attended to by other members of staff).
- Ensures opportunities for sales are followed up by the most appropriate specialist.
- Reports on technical problems using appropriate procedures.

About You
As a MET Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent is an advantage but not essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
