Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Accredited Diagnostic Technician to join our expanding multi-brand VAG workshop. As part of Citygate, you will work across a broad range of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, ŠKODA, SEAT, and CUPRA models giving you exposure to the latest technologies, diagnostic systems, and repair methods across the full VAG portfolio.

This role will enable you to apply your existing technical expertise while continually developing new capabilities through manufacturer-led training and hands‑on experience with new vehicle models. You will diagnose complex faults, support the wider workshop team, and play a key part in ensuring our customers receive an exceptional and trusted service. As a Diagnostic Technician, you will also provide coaching and guidance to less experienced technicians, contributing to the growth and quality of the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

As a Diagnostic Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Completing scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Undertaking diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues
• Conducting electronic visual health checks (eHVC) and providing clear, expert recommendations
• Liaising directly with customers and service advisors to deliver outstanding service
• Ensuring all servicing and repair work meets internal, manufacturer, and safety standards
• Participating in ongoing training to keep product and technical knowledge up to date
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business
• Mentoring and coaching apprentice/less experienced technicians where required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification, ideally with VAG group experience
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving ability
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Great communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
• Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines
