About The Role
We're looking for a motivated individual to help grow our customer base and strengthen our business partnerships.
In this role, you'll proactively identify and engage potential customers and businesses, promoting our full range of consumer and B2B ground transportation solutions.
You'll be responsible for converting leads into bookings, supporting the Sales team with onboarding new business accounts, and developing existing relationships to drive growth.
Alongside this, you'll play a key role in enhancing the overall customer experience and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Engage with new sales opportunities through warm and cold-calling, face‑to‑face meetings, mailshots, networking and social media.
- Promote a welcoming, engaging and professional environment for consumer and account customers.
- Ensure that all leads are engaged with the intention of encouraging new business accounts and ground transportation bookings.
- Ensure correct products, services and options are communicated and delivered to candidates in a timely manner.
- Work towards and achieve monthly and quarterly KPIs, targets and business objectives.
- Utilise CRM and other relevant systems to generate leads.
- Arrange meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns.
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.
- Escalate all agreements requiring negotiation, soon‑to‑close and/or with unusual requirements to the Head of Corporate Accounts.
- Act as a point of contact for complaints and objections from customers.
- Gather feedback from potential clients and existing customers and share with internal teams.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the private hire and taxi products, brands and services.
- Develop a thorough awareness and knowledge of local events, networking events and competitors to promote and develop the private hire and taxi products and services.
- Receive and handle a wide range of telephone and e‑mail enquiries, and correspondence – working on own initiative to take action as appropriate and referring issues to the Head of Corporate Accounts.
- Regularly check all monitored e‑mail inboxes.
- Provide full administrative and clerical support to the Commercial Services team.
- Provide administrative and general support to Management and Directors.
- Ensure all data is cleansed and accurately logged onto spreadsheets and operational systems (e. g. CRM).
- Create, maintain and reconcile reports & statements.
- Engage with potential clients and customers by phone, e‑mail or in person to ensure queries are resolved satisfactorily.
Essential Qualifications
- Be driven, confident, proactive and have a good understanding of relationship building.
- Good professional image; confident, engaging, curious, friendly and polite.
- Excellent phone, written and verbal communication skills; able to deal with customers at all levels effectively via face‑to‑face / telephone and e‑mails when required.
- Good interpersonal skills with a systematic and organised approach.
- A self‑starter; able to prioritise and co‑ordinate workloads to meet deadlines.
- Reliable, trustworthy with the ability to work to a high standard, quickly and while under pressure.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative.
- Ability to deliver against ambitious KPIs.
- Pro‑active and highly resourceful, with a desire to create a positive experience for others.
- Based within a commutable distance of the area of operation.
- Be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
- Keen to develop over a period of time with a willingness and ability to learn.
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant experience in a similar sales or business development role; preferably within the taxi, transport, motor or logistics industries.
- Experience working in the transportation, motor or logistics industries.
Benefits
£30,000 per annum + commission, 22 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays), an additional day off for your birthday, and access to employee benefits including eyecare vouchers and the Cycle to Work scheme.
Location
Manchester - Trafford House (with travel to other North West offices, including Chester, Wirral, and Liverpool, once or twice a week as required).
