Job Description
We\βre looking for a Platform Engineer contractor to join our team on-a 6-month basis. This role is critical to empowering our development teams by building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports their applications. As a Platform Engineer, you\βll work in an agile squad to create self-service tools and respond to infrastructure incidents using technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, and Ansible. What you\βll be doing
- Supporting development teams by creating and maintaining the infrastructure they rely on to build and run their applications smoothly
- Designing and improving self-service tools that help developers work more independently and efficiently
- Collaborating within an agile squad using a Kanban workflow to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
- Working hands-on with modern technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to bring innovative ideas to life
- Collaborate with different stakeholders across the business to understand needs and deliver impactful infrastructure solutions
What you\βll bring to the role
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver meaningful infrastructure solutions
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
- A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, with a passion for automation and efficiency
- Confidence in responding to incidents and maintaining service levels with care and professionalism
- A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving, with knowledge of agile practices and event-driven architecture
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines for automating and streamlining software delivery
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes to manage cloud infrastructure and containerised applications
- Proficiency with Ansible to automate configuration and deployment tasks
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code to build repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure that supports agile development
- Familiarity with agile working practices
