Joining us as a Senior Area Commercial Manager
Lead the commercial and contractual management of a telecoms project portfolio, covering government-funded and infrastructure build contracts. It supports the Regional Commercial Manager in delivering strategic goals, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and financial control across all commercial activities. You would be responsible for developing a high-performing team, providing leadership across Operations, Finance, Legal, and Service Delivery. You would all focus on building collaborative relationships with Build Partners and driving standardisation and efficiency across the region.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
- Support the Regional Commercial Manager by providing contractual expertise, managing risk, and driving strategic change across the region
- Oversee commercial operations within the zone, including contract management, expenditure control, and accurate payment certification aligned with contract terms
- Lead forecasting and financial tracking, ensuring spend aligns with approved budgets and proactively identifying risks, overspend, and efficiency opportunities
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team, promoting consistency, development, and adherence to best practice commercial standards
What you’ll bring to the role
You will have significant Quantity Surveying experience as well as solid understanding of NEC contracting and dispute resolution. You’ll also have:
- Experience overseeing large capital expenditure projects (£200m+)
- Experience of commercial management and procurement of contractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations
- Ability to use data to provide financial reporting with actionable insights and strategic operational focus.
- Managerial experience of a team who have a wide number of stakeholders
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to challenge
