Overview
As our Fibre Specialist you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of the CityFibre network. You will diagnose and resolve faults across the network from the Fibre Exchange to the end-user premises. Responsibilities
- Leverage hands-on fibre experience to manage and maintain network performance
- Diagnose and resolve network issues including signal loss and physical damage, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal service
- Utilise advanced diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot network issues efficiently
- Manage complex installations and repairs, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring tasks are completed promptly on the day of service
- Adapt to evolving operational needs and diverse working environments, including outdoor installations and network centres, with a readiness to travel when required
Requirements
- Strong background working with fibre, including knowledge of network build, FTTx installation, fibre blowing and fibre splicing
- Core network fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience auditing safe systems of works
- Experience with OTDR/IOLM testing and knowledge of PIA duct and/or pole installations
- NRSWA units 2 and 10
- SA001 and SA002 Smart Awards
- Driving licence valid in the UK
- Experience with Quality Assurance, data collection, ISO 9001, and quality management systems
