As a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Policy & Standards Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of safety, health, and environmental policies across the business. This strategic role requires deep expertise in SHE legislation and standards, driving continuous improvement and compliance. You'll collaborate across teams to shape a safer, more sustainable future aligned with business growth.

You’ll receive a competitive salary of up to £52,000, a performance related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

  • Lead the way in shaping safer, smarter workplaces by evolving and embedding integrated management systems across health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Bring policies to life - you’ll guide their development, rollout, and ensure they’re not just written, but actively used and understood across the business.
  • Champion continuous improvement by preparing for audits, refining documentation, and closing policy gaps in areas like lone working and occupational health.
  • Collaborate with purpose - you’ll work with teams across the organisation to align policies with ESG goals and introduce practical safety solutions.
  • Make a real impact through project management, stakeholder engagement, and translating complex legislation into clear, actionable policies.

What you'll bring to the role:

This role calls for a confident communicator with strong collaboration skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, and drive safety excellence in a fast-paced environment. You’ll also have:

  • A talent for guiding policy development and implementation, with the confidence to lead initiatives and the organisation to see them through.

  • Experience working across areas such as lone worker safety and environmental reporting, helping to shape practical, impactful solutions.
  • A meticulous approach to managing ISO standards and ensuring audit readiness, always focused on continuous improvement.
  • The ability to translate complex legislation into clear, everyday practices that support a safer, more sustainable workplace.

Qualifications:

  • A Higher-Level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety e.g. NCRQ Diploma, NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Chartered Professional Membership – CMIOSH or working towards.
  • Lead Auditor 14001, 45001.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and associated H&S technical standards and SHE Management Systems, ISO14001, ISO 45001.
