Joining us as a Fibre Quality Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of the CityFibre network. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving faults across the network, from the Fibre Exchange to the end-user premises. This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Leveraging your hands-on experience with fibre, to manage and maintain network performance
  • Diagnosing and resolving network issues, including signal loss and physical damage, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal service
  • Utilising advanced diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot network issues efficiently
  • Managing complex installations and repairs, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring tasks are completed promptly on the day of service
  • Adapting to evolving operational needs and diverse working environments, including outdoor installations and network centres, with a readiness to travel when required

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • You’ll have a strong background working with fibre, including knowledge of network build, FTTx installation, fibre blowing and fibre splicing.
  • You’ll also have:
    • Core network fault finding problem solving skills
    • Experience of auditing safe systems of works
    • Experience of OTDR / IOLM testing and knowledge of PIA – duct and/or pole installations
    • NRSWA – units 2 and 10
    • SA001 and SA002 Smart Awards
    • Driving licence valid in the UK
