Based out at our Wairakei Road Depot, we require an enthusiastic Civil Groundsperson to join our open space maintenance team as part of the Christchurch International Airport contract.

This role provides high-quality, on-site maintenance of both the landside and airside grounds. The work our Airport Grounds team undertake is pivotal to keeping the airport campus operational, compliant, and safe for all users, so we require someone with high attention to detail, is solutions focussed, and efficient in their practice.

This role consists of mostly civil work and grounds maintenance and occasional work outside of normal working hours.

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a civil construction, maintenance/hard landscaping environment
  • Experience with civil works and civil structures including,
    • Concrete placing
    • Paving
    • Asphalting
    • Hard/soft landscaping
    • Fencing
  • Machinery operation (Digger operation experience essential)
  • Must hold a valid Class 1 & 2 driver\\\’s licence (WTR preferred)
  • Ability to work too and meet deadlines.
  • Have a strong emphasis on health and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and within the wider team.
  • Physically fit and motivated to make a difference.
  • Working full-time 40 hours between Monday – Friday with no day the same.
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing support and mentoring to aid personal development.
  • Being part of a team-oriented culture committed to delivering high standards of workmanship.
  • Provided with a high-quality uniform, including full PPE requirements.
