Our services provide practical support for students with disabilities, long-term health conditions, specific learning differences, and mental health conditions, as well as emotional support for all students who may be experiencing difficulties with their wellbeing, including counselling.We are experienced in supporting students from many different backgrounds and cultures with a wide range of personal, practical and academic concerns. The post holder supports the leadership and development of the Student Mental Health Service,providing highly specialist, evidence‑based support to students with moderate to severe mentalhealth difficulties. This includes complex case management, risk assessment and crisis response;coordinated multi‑agency liaison with statutory and external services; and the development ofinclusive, accessible support pathways across the University. The role provides agreedline‑management and clinical/operational supervision to Mental Health Advisers, ensures continuityof support during staff absence, contributes to service improvement and data‑informed practice, andoffers specialist consultation and training to academic and professional services colleagues.We are seeking an experienced and professionally registered mental health practitioner to provide specialist support for students with complex and enduring mental health needs. The role involves risk assessment, crisis intervention, case coordination, and liaison with NHS and external services. You will lead on complex cases, supervise Mental Health Advisers (as required), and contribute to service development.
