We wish to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a study (HEAL-D) which is a large randomised controlled trial comparing effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of culturally tailored versus standard diabetes self-management programmes in Black-African and Black-Caribbean adults with type 2 diabetes. Responsibilities will focus on running the embedded process evaluation for the trial. The role will be suitable for part-time or job-sharing appointments. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate their experience and competence in a range of research activities.
Responsibilities
- Leading the day-to-day running of the process evaluation, under the guidance of Professor Ussher
- Finalising process evaluation processes and materials (e.g., topic guides, acceptability questionnaires)
- Overseeing the recruitment of participants and staff to be interviewed
- Overseeing and conducting interviews with participants and staff
- Leading the analysis of transcripts from interviews and reporting results
- Observing and checking intervention delivery sessions
- Conducting stakeholder workshops
- Compiling and analysing quantitative data from the observation checklists, attendance logs and acceptability questionnaires
- Liaising with the wider research team
- Leading report and paper writing for the process evaluation, and further dissemination of the research findings
