The Business Engagement and Knowledge Exchange team supports City St George's academics in maximizing the impact of their research through business engagement and knowledge exchange activities. The Business Engagement & Knowledge Exchange Officer is a key position within our team, coordinating activities that connect university expertise with industry partners. This role facilitates consultancy, contract research, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Innovate UK funding, and use of specialist facilities, ensuring projects commence efficiently and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will coordinate the setup and contracting of consultancy projects, industry-funded research, and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, working closely with academics, Schools, and external partners.
- You will support Innovate UK applications through costing and project management, ensure compliance with University and external requirements, and provide professional advice to researchers on business development opportunities.
- The role involves problem-solving, risk analysis, effective communication with diverse stakeholders, and marketing the University’s knowledge exchange activities to promote collaboration.
Person Specification
- We seek a degree-qualified candidate (or equivalent experience) with knowledge of university business development including consultancy, KTPs, Innovate UK opportunities, and contract research.
- You will have experience coordinating knowledge exchange activities and advising academics, with excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
- Essential attributes include strong organizational abilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail, and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Formal training in university consultancy is desirable.
