The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As part of periodic review, we are looking for a collegiate individual to expand the role of selected specialties in P year 2027-2028. We intend to appoint early in 2026 calendar year (AY 2025-2026) in order that clinical placements can be negotiated and modelled across Trusts, clinical learning outcomes and Medical Licensing assessment (MLA) topics developed and agreed, clinical and introductory teaching with a strong interactive component be developed, faculty teaching capacity identified and an appropriate CANVAS presence prepared.

Responsibilities

  • The postholder will liaise with placement leads to support delivery and timely resolution of any issues relating to cross-site equivalent opportunities for students to meet outcomes including workplace based assessments during the placement block, as required.
  • They will play a frontline role within our team for any queries related to their specialty and provide a close interface between the MBBS course leadership and their counterparts at partner trusts on issues related to quality of student experience on placements.

Qualifications and requirements

  • An interest in undergraduate teaching, active learning and familiarity with the relevant specialty in local NHS Trusts is essential.
  • Current, or very recent experience as placement lead at a partner NHS provider.
  • Experience of teaching medicine at an undergraduate and/or foundation level.
  • Knowledge of the MBBS curriculum at SGUL and the assessment strategy.
  • Knowledge of relevant specialist area to an appropriate level for the UK graduate.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and Word and software skills required for a blended course delivery and willingness to undertake relevant training, as required.
