Overview

The School seeks to appoint an exceptional Deputy Dean to support the Executive Dean in providing strategic and operational leadership during a period of integration, growth and transformation. The Deputy Dean will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver an outstanding student experience, strengthen interdisciplinary research, foster an inclusive high-performing culture, and build impactful partnerships across the NHS, professional bodies and wider external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Dean in strategic and operational leadership of the School.
  • Drive excellence in teaching, research and scholarship across a wide spectrum of health and medical disciplines.
  • Develop and nurture an inclusive, high-performing learning and working environment.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with NHS, professional organisations and other external stakeholders.
  • Represent the School externally and enhance its reputation for education, research and societal impact.

Qualifications

  • Substantial senior leadership experience within higher education.
  • Strong academic and professional profile in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, lead change and inspire colleagues in large organisations.
  • Commitment to educational excellence, research innovation, equality, diversity and inclusion, and partnership working.
