City St George’s, University of London seeks a highly skilled research assistant to support Dr. Sujata Visaria on empirical research projects involving micro‑level data from Vietnam and the Philippines.
Responsibilities
- Data processing and analysis, survey design, literature reviews, report writing and presentations.
- Primary work on two empirical projects: the impact of cassava production on socio‑economic outcomes in Vietnam, and a randomized controlled trial of a financial empowerment intervention for migrant workers from the Philippines.
- Conduct literature reviews; quantitative data cleaning and analysis; reporting findings.
- Design questionnaires, intervention materials, and training manuals.
- Liaise with overseas collaborators and participate in regular meetings with the supervisor and research team.
Qualifications
- BSc/BA (or equivalent) in economics, finance or a relevant field.
- Strong quantitative skills with knowledge of impact assessment methodologies.
- Basic GIS concepts and ability to manipulate GIS data.
- Proficiency in Stata and/or R coding.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with impact assessment exercises and interest in socio‑economic problems of developing countries is a plus.
