Background
The Strategic Planning and Performance (SPPU) directorate plays a critical role within the University to inform and facilitate the delivery of the Strategy and enable evidence‑based decision‑making. SPPU operates centrally, reporting directly to the University’s Deputy President (Operations) and working closely with the University Senior Leadership team. The directorate’s activities include strategy formation and deployment, academic and financial planning, business intelligence, student management information, statutory assurance, performance, benchmarking, and league table analysis.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the annual planning round through the provision of market intelligence
- Assisting academic portfolio review and evaluating potential new courses
- Collaborating with the broader SPPU team and contributing to the development of the university’s Tableau platform to support business intelligence
Person Specification
Candidates should be eager to learn, have an analytical mindset, good attention to detail, clear communication skills, and be proactive. The successful candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines. Experience in data analysis, high numeracy, proficiency in Excel, and willingness to learn new data transformation and visualisation tools such as Tableau and Alteryx are required.
