The Senior Research Accounting Officer is a key position in the Research & Innovation Finance team responsible for the financial management of research grants. You will be the business partner for the financial management of research grants in specific School(s) in City St George's and provide professional, customer focused advice and support to researchers and Schools.
Responsibilities
- Provide post award financial administration for a portfolio of research and enterprise projects in the University.
- Business partner with budget holders to manage project budgets.
- Ensure timely collection of research income through invoicing, raising claims and funder reporting.
- Ensure all research collaborators are paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the grants.
Person Specification
- Extensive experience and knowledge in a similar role, ideally in the higher education sector.
- Customer focused with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in the use of the Agresso system.
- Strong analytical and business partnering skills, including competency with Microsoft Excel.
