Role Summary
The Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research, located in the Department of Nursing & Midwifery, seeks a senior academic to lead research development, oversee doctoral supervision and contribute to teaching excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a programme of research within the Centre.
- Secure research funding from Research Councils and other funding bodies.
- Deliver high‑quality teaching and supervise doctoral students to successful completion.
- Provide leadership within the Centre and department, mentoring early and mid‑career researchers.
- Foster excellent teamwork and build external academic networks.
Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
- Strong research reputation with an internationally published record.
- Successful track record of securing research funding.
- Experience of delivering excellent education and supervising doctoral students.
- Experience of leading research and academic leadership in a university environment.
- Qualification in Midwifery desirable; strong track record in relevant fields required.
