The Learning Futures Lab sits at the intersection of technology, pedagogy, academic development and student success, with a clear mandate to translate expertise into practical support for Schools and measurable improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, digital capability and student outcomes. The Lab brings together a strong community of experts across digital education, learning design and multimedia, staff educational development, student learning development, operations and projects.
The next Director will need to harness that expertise and ensure it is translated into practical support, stronger engagement with Schools and measurable institutional impact. This will involve building on the strengths of the existing team while bringing a fresh perspective on how the Lab can support colleagues, shape practice and help City St George’s respond to the pace of change in learning and teaching.
The successful candidate will bring strategic nous, pragmatism and a strong implementation mindset. They will understand how to lead expert teams, build trust with academic colleagues and turn educational ambition into delivery. They will be able to support the University’s education strategy, improve the way the Lab works with the wider institution and help ensure that expertise is reflected in outcomes, including student experience, teaching quality and external measures of performance.
