The Department of Nursing & Midwifery in the School of Health & Medical Sciences is one of London’s most established providers of health care education, delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. It has a strong portfolio of world-leading research in the areas of child health; mental health care; people with physical health and long-term conditions; acute and critical care; and care of the older person. The department works in partnership with service users and carers, alongside health and social care experts and providers, to develop and deliver education and research which shapes future nurse leaders. We currently have an opportunity for two Nursing Lecturers to support the delivery of the courses.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding academic in Adult Nursing who will deliver high-quality teaching to pre and post-registration nursing students, including classroom-based activities (lectures, seminars) and simulated practice activities in our excellent simulated practice environments. Support the Programme Team by undertaking fair and consistent assessment of students as detailed in the module specification (for example, marking essays and portfolios, conducting vivas, OSCEs, etc). Some of these assessments may need to be conducted in the students’ clinical areas.

The successful candidates will need to be registered with the NMC and a qualification in academic practice (PGCE or equivalent) would also be desirable. The role requires you to have a breadth and depth of knowledge in Adult Nursing and related practice education topics, commensurate with teaching at BSc and Master’s level.
