Background
Registry Services, within Academic Services, is launching a new Graduation and Awards team dedicated to the end-to-end delivery of awards, certificate production, award verification and graduation ceremonies. Working closely with colleagues in Registry Services, Schools, and the Events Team, the Graduation and Awards Manager will lead the development of this new function, ensuring excellent service delivery, operational efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement across all graduation and awards activity.
Responsibilities
Lead the Graduation and Awards team and oversee the delivery of award, certificate and graduation processes. Manage operational planning, stakeholder engagement, service improvement and compliance activities. Provide expert advice on regulations and processes, oversee budgets and risk management, lead staff development, and work collaboratively with Schools, Registry Services, Events and Professional Services colleagues to deliver an outstanding student experience.
Person Specification
You will have significant experience leading operational services within a complex environment, with knowledge of student records, award processes and regulatory frameworks. You will possess strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, alongside experience of process improvement, staff management and service development. The ability to lead change, manage risk and deliver high-quality services to fixed deadlines is essential.
Additional Information
Whilst the role is hybrid, there is a frequent amount of on-site presence required by the postholder in the planning and delivery phases of graduation ceremonies - currently run in January and July each year.
