City St George’s is seeking an outstanding academic / clinician-educator to take on the role of Deputy Chief Examiner for the Becoming a Doctor (BD) Domain of the MBBS programme. This is a key academic leadership role within a core curriculum domain focused on professionalism, workplace-based performance, and the development of the values, behaviours and attributes required of future doctors, ensuring robust, consistent and defensible assessment across all years, aligned with GMC Outcomes for Graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Support the academic leadership, planning and operational delivery of assessment within the Becoming a Doctor domain, deputising for the Chief Examiner where required
  • Support the development, blueprinting and quality assurance of professionalism, attendance and workplace-based assessments
  • Work with Responsible Examiners, academic leads and administrative teams to ensure effective, consistent delivery of domain assessments across years
  • Contribute to monitoring of student performance, grading, standard setting and Board of Examiner activity, and to quality assurance and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • be a registered medical practitioner with a substantive clinical appointment and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • have Experience of teaching and assessment in undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical education
  • have Knowledge of assessment principles, standard setting and quality assurance
  • possess Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work within complex organisational relationships
  • have a Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to continuing professional development as an educator
