City St George’s is seeking an outstanding academic/clinician‑educator to take on the role of Deputy Academic Lead for the T year of the MBBS 5‑year programme for a 3‑year fixed‑term contract.

Eligibility

This role is only open to redeployees at City St George’s. Applications from individuals who are not redeployees will not be considered at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Support the academic leadership and operational coordination of the T year MBBS programme.
  • Work collaboratively with the Year Lead to ensure high‑quality delivery of teaching and learning across the programme.
  • Hold student meetings, which will be shared with the Academic Year Lead.
  • Deputise for the Year Lead where required, including chairing student meetings and representing the year group within programme governance structures.
  • Contribute to programme review, quality assurance, and enhancement activities.
  • Engage with student representatives and participate in student meetings and feedback processes.
  • Support student support and professionalism processes, including participation in meetings with students where appropriate.
  • Work closely with academic colleagues, attachment leads, and programme administrators to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to relevant programme committees and governance structures.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in your application you will be a registered medical practitioner, have a postgraduate educational qualification and have experience of teaching medicine at an undergraduate level.
