Deputy Academic Lead for Graduate Entry Programme - Year 1 (Tooting) (Redeployee applicants only)

City St George’s is seeking an outstanding academic / clinician-educator to take on the role of Deputy Academic Lead for Year 1 of the MBBS GEP programme. This is a new academic leadership role created to strengthen and expand academic leadership capacity within the MBBS programme. The postholder will work closely with the Year Lead and the MBBS Senior Leadership Team to support the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of the GEP Year 1 curriculum, and to meet students who require support or guidance.

You will be based in the Division of Medical Education within the Department of Medicine. Your new responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the academic leadership and operational coordination of the GEP Y1 MBBS programme
• Work collaboratively with the Year Lead to ensure high-quality delivery of teaching and learning across the programme
• Hold student meetings, which will be shared with the Academic Year Lead
• Deputise for the Year Lead where required, including chairing student meetings and representing the year group within programme governance structures
• Contribute to programme review, quality assurance, and enhancement activities
• Engage with student representatives and participate in student meetings and feedback processes
• Support student support and professionalism processes, including participation in meetings with students where appropriate
• Work closely with academic colleagues, attachment leads, and programme administrators to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum
• Contribute to relevant programme committees and governance structures

To be successful in your application you will be an experienced educator with a strong commitment to undergraduate medical education, sound understanding of curriculum delivery and quality assurance, and an interest in developing further experience in educational governance and programme leadership.
