Role Overview
The Careers & Employability Directorate plays a central role in helping City St George’s deliver a student experience that blends academic excellence with strong employability skills. The six‑month, part‑time Careers Consultant position (21 hours per week) sits within the Careers Consultant team and supports embedding career‑focused learning and professional experience across the curriculum, ensuring every undergraduate is career ready. The role involves delivering core career activities, including one‑to‑one guidance and group sessions for students from all disciplines and levels.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver career‑focused learning within academic modules, working closely with academic colleagues.
  • Apply pedagogical approaches to employability, deliver lectures to large student groups, and use learning design principles to create engaging, impactful content.
  • Support students and graduates in developing their career plans.

Person Specification
Experience in careers advisory roles is welcome, as is a successful career changer who can demonstrate the relevant skills. Strong knowledge of the UK graduate labour market and relevant professional experience are essential.
