Background
The City Apprenticeships Hub is a central service that leads, supports, and develops apprenticeship provision and apprentices across the university. Key to the success and growth of apprenticeships is a clear structure and process from enrolment to completion. To strengthen the current provision and grow it further, we require a Quality Assurance Manager with strong quality assurance skills and solid apprenticeship experience to assist the Head of Apprenticeships and meet/exceed DfE and Ofsted regulations and requirements. The role includes line management of all Assessors across the university apprenticeship programs.
Responsibilities
- Operate and evolve the apprenticeship programmes quality assurance framework, including the End‑point Assessment process and compliance checks.
- Support the Head of Apprenticeships and QA Manager with quality achievement rate forecasting/reports and internal verifications of assessor duties.
- Standardise practice across programmes and maintain and improve OFSTED grading to aid achievement.
Person Specification
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of apprenticeships, apprenticeship systems and reporting.
- Knowledge of the OFSTED inspection framework.
- Experience of the end‑to‑end process for EPA.
- Knowledge and experience of compliance, quality, verification, auditing and reporting.
- Confident and professional, with excellent working knowledge of apprenticeship reporting, audit requirements and supporting senior management.
- Experience of working within a complex/multi‑tiered work‑based training provider.
- Experience of working in the area of apprenticeships and with apprenticeship systems such as the Apprenticeship Service.
