We are looking to recruit a Technical Assistant with previous experience of working in a laboratory environment to join our Research Operations group at Tooting Campus. The Research Operations group works closely with Research Institutes and other University directorates in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role offers varied, hands‑on experience with opportunities to develop new skills, troubleshoot issues, and support day‑to‑day operations.
Person Specification
We are seeking a candidate with proven experience working in a laboratory environment and hands‑on exposure to Liquid Nitrogen and/or pressure vessels. Knowledge of purchasing principles and experience in the shipment of biological samples and/or dangerous goods are desirable. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, alongside a good standard of IT proficiency, particularly in Windows‑based programmes. This role requires a proactive and safety‑conscious individual capable of supporting laboratory operations efficiently and effectively. You will be expected to perform manual handling of equipment and maintain good physical fitness. The post holder may be required to work occasionally outside of normal working hours.
