Procurement Coordinator: Public Sector Growth & Training

Full-Time No working from home possible
City St George's Students' Union

Please note: This role is only open to redeployees and internal applicants at City St George's.

Background

We are recruiting for two Procurement Co‑Ordinator (Grade 6) roles on a permanent basis. One role is responsible for supporting the Estates and FM areas of spend and the other will support across IT, Academic, Science and Health related areas of spend. Procurement sits within the Finance directorate which has recently transitioned into a new operating model and structure following the merger of St George’s and City Universities. This will provide the opportunity for learning and career development. These roles require an interest in procurement (ideally public procurement) and would suit a good relationship‑builder who is organised and can prioritise tasks. Both roles report to a Category Manager within the team.

Responsibilities

To support the Category Manager with identifying, planning and delivering benefits for key areas of spend and contracts that are aligned with the overarching Procurement plan. This will involve maintaining a high standard of reporting, supporting large procurements as well as taking ownership for lower‑value/risk procurements within the category. The Procurement Co‑Ordinator will be a key point of contact for business queries and requests around procurement and suppliers and will help develop and deliver training and communications to support the upskilling of business buyers. Key to success in this role will be the ability to build and manage relationships with diverse groups of people (internal stakeholders, suppliers, senior management) and the ability to manage competing tasks effectively.

Person Specification

It is expected that the role‑holder would have an interest in procurement and may have some experience within other procurement functions. The role holder would be expected to be developing a career in Procurement and have started on their CIP journey or show a desire to commence with formal qualifications. The role holder would be expected to develop a sound understanding of public contracting regulations.
