Background
The Change Support Unit (CSU) enables City St George’s University to deliver effective change through project and programme management, change management, and business analysis, alongside consultancy and capability development. The Business Change Manager plays a key role in ensuring successful adoption of change across the University, focusing on stakeholder engagement, communication, and readiness. Acting as a bridge between delivery teams and leadership, the role ensures change is understood, embedded, and delivers measurable benefits with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities
- The Business Change Manager leads and delivers change initiatives across the University’s portfolio, ensuring effective planning, impact assessment, and readiness.
- They manage stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting, aligning change activities with project delivery.
- The role supports process improvement, builds change capability through training and coaching, and develops tools and resources.
- Working collaboratively, they drive adoption, track benefits, and embed sustainable, inclusive practices that enhance student and staff experience while minimising disruption.
Person Specification
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, ideally with a recognised change management qualification, the candidate will bring strong organisational, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills. They will have experience delivering complex change, preferably within higher education or the public sector, and the ability to communicate clearly, influence effectively and build relationships at all levels. A proactive approach, with experience across the change lifecycle, coaching others and supporting continuous improvement, is essential. Knowledge of budgeting and financial awareness is desirable.
