We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Lecturer in Paramedic Science with substantial expertise in paramedic practice, education, and placement. The successful candidate will support our undergraduate provision in Paramedic Science, delivered as a BSc (Hons). In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate students, bringing innovation and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to curriculum and educational development through the integration of scholarship, research and professional/clinical activities.
- Plan, organise and manage education, learning and assessment activities within a defined educational programme, in collaboration with colleagues, where appropriate.
- Provide academic guidance, personal tutoring, and pastoral support, signposting students to appropriate services where required.
- Demonstrate academic leadership within the School by undertaking administrative activities appropriate to the role level, e.g. membership of School-level committees, efficient and effective management and administration of the School’s activities.
Qualifications:
- An honours degree in a related discipline and a postgraduate degree or appropriate and equivalent professional qualification.
- A sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in pre-hospital, emergency and acute care to develop and enhance programmes of education and pedagogic methodologies.
- Recent and relevant experience of pre-hospital, acute or emergency care with a commitment to continued engagement with professional/clinical practice.
- Demonstrable knowledge of innovative teaching techniques that are designed to create interest, understanding and enthusiasm among students; encouraging them to engage in the highest levels of scholarship and achievement.
