At City Site we are working in partnership with an Oxfordshire-based contractor who is looking for a Team Leader to join their team within their property services sector, specialising in Damp & Mould repairs and solutions within the public sector.
The Damp and Mould Team Leader will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Housing Act 2004, The Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code, and the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 (also known as Awaab’s Law). Changes in law will shift focus to properties with HHSRS hazards, including damp and mould. This role will involve a coordinated approach to triaging, ordering, and managing damp and mould repairs raised by the Client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the requirements and coordinate a rapid response to damp and mould reports and repairs raised by the client.
- Schedule, deliver and manage damp and mould repairs in collaboration with the company and client teams.
- Manage works and onsite activities, ensuring compliance to all Health and Safety requirements including CDM 2015.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety obligations.
- Coordinate property condition surveys and raise repairs following reports from residents and the wider client and teams.
- Collaborate with client surveyors and the maintenance team to implement preventive measures and post works inspections in line with legislation.
- Lead, motivate and monitor staff to ensure that there is an emphasis on the delivery of a customer driven quality service.
What we are looking for:
- At least 5 years’ experience of working in building maintenance or construction environment.
- Experience working in social housing.
- In-depth knowledge of housing repairs and related legislation, including HHSRS, disrepair, and mutual exchanges.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ideally SMSTS trained or minimum SSSTS with an awareness in Asbestos Management.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various property locations.
