We are working alongside a long standing client who are a market-leading main contractor based in Oxfordshire and are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Special Works Division, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £4m. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly established and reputable business, known for delivering high-quality construction projects. The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in managing projects from pre-construction through to final account, across a varied mix of works including:
- Heritage refurbishment projects across universities and colleges
- New build projects
- Minor works and specialist refurbishment schemes
- Projects ranging up to £4m in value
You will play a key role in ensuring commercial success, working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs from inception to completion
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Contract administration and risk management
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial performance
- Building and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships
Requirements
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Experience delivering refurbishment and/or new build projects
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred
