We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a public-sector social housing contract based in Oldham and surrounding areas. This is a long-term contract role focusing on housing maintenance, repairs, and planned works, working closely with site teams and housing clients.
Role Details
- Location: Oldham (site-based with some hybrid working considered)
- Start Date: May 2026
- Contract Length: Initially to December 2026, with strong likelihood of extension
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Rate: £59.38 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of social housing maintenance and repair works
- Subcontractor procurement, tendering, and appointment
- Managing valuations, interim payments, variations, and final accounts
- Cost control, forecasting, CVRs, and financial reporting
- Supporting site teams to mitigate commercial risk
- Change control and cost recovery
- Working closely with client representatives and operational teams
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing
- Strong background in repairs & maintenance or term contracts
- Experience managing subcontractor procurement and payments
- Solid commercial knowledge across JCT or public-sector contracts
- Confident working in site-based environments
- Competent using Excel for cost control and reporting
Desirable
- Experience on public-sector or housing association frameworks
- Knowledge of commercial / procurement systems (e.g. eVision or similar)
