A long-standing client of ours is looking to expand their engineering team with an experienced Heating Service Engineer. They are also open to self-employed engineers seeking a long-term, consistent workload, alongside permanent applicants. This is a great opportunity to join a respected mechanical services business that delivers a mix of commercial, industrial and domestic work across Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Gloucester.

Our client is a specialist provider of mechanical and heating solutions, delivering installation, servicing and maintenance across commercial, industrial and domestic environments. With a strong reputation, long-term customer base and commitment to training, they offer a stable and supportive working environment.
The Role
Working independently, you’ll be responsible for servicing and maintaining a range of natural gas, LPG and oil-fired heating systems. The majority of work will be on commercial and industrial sites, with occasional visits to domestic clients. The role involves:
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- System repairs and annual servicing
- Ensuring all work complies with regulations and safety standards
- Managing your own workload and customer interactions day-to-day
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a reliable engineer with proven experience in a similar service/maintenance role. The ideal candidate will have:
- Commercial and domestic gas qualifications
- LPG and oil certifications
- Additional qualifications such as Part P, COMCAT or F-Gas (beneficial but not essential)
- A valid CSCS card
- A DBS check within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain one
- Full UK driving licence
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work across different site environments
- Strong time-management and customer service skills
Qualifications Beneficial to the Role (Candidates with some but not all will still be considered)
- Commercial gas: CDGA1, CORT1, CIGA1, CODNC01, ICPN1, TPCP1/1A
- Domestic gas: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, MET1
- LPG: CONGL1PD
- Oil: OFTEC 101/105E/600a
- Hot water systems certification (e.g., G3)
