I am working with a key client who are actively seeking an experienced Gas & Plumbing Contracts Manager to lead the operational delivery of responsive, planned, project, and maintenance works across our Gas & Plumbing portfolio.
This is a pivotal role within the business, responsible for translating strategic objectives into effective operational delivery, managing safety, budgets, and performance, and leading Team Leaders to ensure contracts are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and with excellent customer service.
You will work closely with clients, planners, senior leadership, and other department heads to drive continuous improvement, maximise productivity, and protect profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall delivery of planned and responsive Gas & Plumbing works, ensuring resources are maximised through close collaboration with Planning teams.
- Ensure all works are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Maintain 100% Gas appliance compliance across the HRA and commercial portfolio in line with contractual SLAs.
- Act as the first point of contact for customers and clients within allocated business areas.
- Manage allocated budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and profit margins are achieved.
- Drive productivity to maximise income and profitability while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Create and deploy strategies to grow, retain, and maximise revenue through MCS ASHP-accredited works.
- Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Be accountable for professional standards, certification, and sign-off.
- Manage and maintain Gas Safe accreditation, MCS ASHP accreditation, and Company accreditation.
- Lead, manage, and support Team Leaders to drive performance and professional standards.
- Model a commercial, professional, and customer-focused approach across all interactions.
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure flexible and effective deployment of resources.
- Take an active role in management meetings, leadership forums, and cross-organisational projects.
Essential
- Proven experience in a Gas & Plumbing Contracts Manager or similar senior operational role.
- Strong knowledge of gas compliance, health & safety, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing budgets, driving profitability, and delivering operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and operational performance.
- Strong client-facing skills with a professional and commercial approach.
Desirable
- Experience managing MCS ASHP-accredited contracts.
- Experience within social housing, local authority, or commercial maintenance environments.
