Long-term thinkers only…
This might be a bit controversial, but hear me out.
I’m currently recruiting for a role that, on paper - might not scream “Director-level” in terms of salary. It’s offering up to £70,000 + package, based in Oxford. And yet, it could be the most promising long-term opportunity I’ve ever worked on.
Why? Because this isn’t just a job. This is a chance to step into a smaller, agile construction business and take the reins. You’d be coming in to essentially run the show as Construction Director, leading the operation, shaping the future, and ultimately building something you can genuinely call your own.
Yes, it’s a smaller outfit right now, and yes, the duties aren’t quite at the level of a corporate Director role yet. But that’s the point. You grow with it. You shape it. And as the business scales, so does your influence, your package, and your earning potential including the opportunity to negotiate serious performance-based bonuses.
It’s surprising how little traction I’ve had on this one so far. Maybe it’s the world we’re in everyone chasing the buck. But if you’re someone who thinks big picture, who sees 5-10 years down the line, and wants to be at the top of something you helped mould, then this might be your moment.
Sound like you? Drop me a message, even if it’s just for an open chat about it or a couple of other unique higher management roles I’m working on currently.
