City Sightseeing Glasgow is looking for an organised and motivated Operations Supervisor to help lead our busy sightseeing operation. This is a hands-on role supporting drivers, tour guides and pavement teams to deliver an excellent visitor experience across the city.

As the Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of our sightseeing service during the summer months and ensure that operations run safely, efficiently and to schedule. During the winter, off-season months (October - April), you'll work on operational projects to suit the needs of the business. You’ll act as the first point of contact for operational issues, support staff throughout the network, and work closely with engineering, scheduling and management teams.

This role is ideal for someone with strong people skills, good operational awareness and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily traffic operations and ensure services run smoothly and on time.
  • Monitor service quality, vehicle presentation and destination displays.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, delays and operational issues.
  • Liaise with Engineering on inspections, MOTs, defects and vehicle availability.
  • Implement adjustments for road closures, events or unexpected disruptions.
  • Conduct commentary system audits and manage fault reporting.
  • Support complaint investigations and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding and training.
  • Manage rotas, holiday allocation, absence cover and overtime recording.
  • Support accident investigations, including CCTV review.
  • Provide coaching and feedback through the GreenRoad driving performance system.
  • Maintain strong communication with staff, suppliers and management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
  • You should have a valid PCV (Category D) driving licence.
  • Manager's CPC would be an advantage.
  • Experience in transport, tourism, leisure or similar operational environments.
  • Previous supervisory or team-leader experience.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and incident reporting.
  • Confident with digital systems, email, scheduling tools and performance monitoring platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage staff and customers.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, bank holidays and peak tourism periods.
