The predicted salary is between 40000 - 40000 £ per year.

Salary: £30-40K per annum DOE.

Location: Remote with flexible working arrangements, all UK based locations considered. Our flexible office collaboration spaces, for those wishing to use them, are in Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter and London.

Term/Hours: 6 month FTC, 40 hours per week, with flexibility over working pattern - please state in your application.

About the Role

You will work across our multidisciplinary consultancy team, with a primary focus on digital and data-driven analysis through automated processes. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful real-world work—helping clients understand, plan, and deliver pathways to decarbonisation. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, adapt quickly, and work flexibly across different challenge areas. You’ll collaborate with a talented, supportive team of experts who are passionate about tackling the climate crisis through evidence-based, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute analytical expertise to projects in digital strategy, and digital planning.
  • Conduct robust modelling, data analysis, and research to support the digitisation of planning.
  • Build data and analytical pipelines (in Python) to automate key modelling workflows.
  • Develop robust, tested code that meets internal standards.
  • Prepare clear and compelling reports, technical outputs, and presentations for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists across transport, energy, digital and systems modelling.
  • Support delivery of consultancy projects to time, quality and budget.
  • Respond flexibly to evolving project needs across the wider consultancy team.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • A PhD in Maths, Computer Science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Environmental/Climate Sciences, or similar analytical fields).
  • Experience building automated data pipelines and workflows using Python.
  • Ability to write tested code in line with software engineering best practice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of statistical and algorithmic methods of analysis.
  • A genuine interest in decarbonisation, net zero, and sustainable planning.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs at pace.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience working in a consultancy environment or in roles involving technical analysis for sustainability, energy, digital, or carbon-related topics.
  • Familiarity with modelling tools, digital innovation, or carbon accounting frameworks. Candidates without direct consulting experience are strongly encouraged to apply if they are driven, ambitious, and eager to learn.
