Hours: Night Shift 18:00 to 02:30, Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Hygiene Lead to oversee and maintain exceptional hygiene standards across our manufacturing site. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work alongside the hygiene team, ensuring all cleaning and hygiene operations are completed to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will have previous team leadership experience, a strong understanding of hygiene controls, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support the hygiene team to achieve and maintain high hygiene standards.
  • Take an active, hands-on approach by carrying out hygiene and cleaning duties alongside the team.
  • Ensure all hygiene activities are completed in line with company procedures and cleaning schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the effective use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain an audit-ready environment at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations, Health & Safety requirements, and company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor hygiene standards across the site and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain accurate cleaning records and ensure all documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
  • Encourage team engagement by empowering colleagues to contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement.
  • Promote a customer-first culture through high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a hygiene, cleaning, food production, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience overseeing hygiene controls and maintaining hygiene compliance standards.
  • Strong knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to lead by example.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
