Carter Rolan Group Accountancy & Finance Division are recruiting for a Food Manufacturing Cost / Site Accountant working for a growing Food Manufacturing business based in Birmingham. This is an onsite role, paying a negotiable salary depending on experience and background.
A growing food manufacturing group is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Site/Cost Accountant. Along with a negotiable salary for the right candidate, you will also have the opportunity to make a visible impact in a growing, forward-thinking business. This is a hands-on factory-facing finance role focused on delivering real insight where it matters most, on the shop floor. This role is fully onsite, requiring a regular presence across the manufacturing site. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys building strong relationships with operational teams.
What You’ll Be Doing As Site/Cost Accountant:
- Taking full ownership of site level finance across the site.
- Delivering accurate costings, variance analysis (labour, materials, overheads), and margin reporting.
- Partnering with site leadership and operations to drive financial accountability.
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking at site level.
- Managing stock valuation, BOM integrity, WIP and inventory reconciliations.
- Supporting capital project costing and post-investment reviews.
What We’re Looking For In a Site/Cost Accountant:
- A qualified or finalist accountant (CIMA / ACCA) with strong manufacturing experience.
- Proven track record in cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Comfortable operating on the factory floor and influencing non-finance teams.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Sage, Dynamics, etc.).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working independently across sites.
