Role Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Portfolio Manager to join our clients Portfolio Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a motivated and inspiring team, playing a key role in portfolio management, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a similar role, L4 UK Regulations qualified and working towards CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification (or equivalent). Responsibilities Portfolio Analysis, Maintenance and Monitoring Analysis of portfolio composition, relative to targets. Creation of orders for approval by PM – includes stock trades, funds and FX transactions Monitor portfolios using various available systems (Pulse, Symphony and Bita Monitor) and reporting finding to the Portfolio Manager (PM). Monitor and track performance of client portfolios against benchmarks and investment objectives, and propose any changes to the PM Monitoring portfolio liquidity and overdraft risk Asset Allocation Preparation and implementation of asset allocation changes. Monitoring changes following direction from monthly asset allocation meeting. Reporting differences and proposing any changes to the PM. Completing a six-monthly asset rotation of each asset class group (Fixed Interest, Equities and Funds) where the APMs contribute to the investment process and are required to provide support, undertake analysis and minute meetings for that asset class group as directed by the asset class leader. Compliance Assist the PM to ensure compliance of client portfolios with all applicable regulations and ethical requirements. Keep abreast of regulatory developments. Ensure that the portfolios are compliant with their benchmarks, guidelines and restrictions, and escalating issues to the PM. Client Review and Administration Assist with annual client portfolio suitability reviews. the PM to ensure. Manage on-going administration of client portfolios, liaising with various internal departments (i.e. Operations, Middle Office, corporate actions). Deal with basic tax queries arising from changes in taxation regulations. Collaborate with other APMs to complete regular centralised tasks. Contribute to the overall marketing and business development processes for your team. Experience & Qualifications 2+ years of experience in similar role, in a client facing environment. Educated to at least A level standard. Level 4 UK regulation exam (required for SMCR certification). Working towards CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification (or equivalent). Skills and Behaviours IT Skills strong Excel skill and a good working knowledge of portfolio management systems. Understanding of investments, markets and the operational processes which support them. Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and the risks arising. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarise complex issues clearly and succinctly. Ability to analyse investment information and draw conclusions from it. Prepared to engage in debate about the conclusions drawn, resilient in sustaining a logical. argument, and to adjust or hold position as seems fit. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
