The predicted salary is between 26105 - 27753 € per year.

Salary: £26,104.54 to £27,752.51 (pro rata), starting on Point 1, increasing to Point 2 at six month mark and to top of grade Point 3 on following 1st April.

Hours: 16 hrs per fortnight.

Contract: Permanent.

Number of Positions: Two.

Entitlement: 26 days annual leave, rising to 29 after five years (pro-rata). 12.5 days public holidays (pro-rata).

Location: 130 Blochairn Road, Glasgow, G21 1DU.

A new opportunity has arisen at City Property Markets, an operating arm of City Property (Glasgow) LLP. Reporting to the Markets Superintendent, the Weekend Market Operative will be based at the Glasgow Wholesale Market in Blochairn as well as assisting with external markets at Shawlands and Partick.

Main job functions include:

  • Liaising with traders and members of the public.
  • Providing on-site support within the market location(s) and enabling a safe and effective service.
  • Collecting market charges, allocating space to traders and issuing appropriate receipts.
  • Enforcing Market Regulations and ensuring the area is available and set up for safe use.
  • Monitoring operation of the area and markets.
  • Liaising with traders and visitors, and with Council Services and external agencies.
  • Providing appropriate responses and customer service to visitors to the markets.
  • Rent collection at weekend markets and reconciliation of income.
  • Erecting and dismantling market stalls.
  • Recording work, incidents, and any appropriate information in the required manner.
  • Driving market vehicles when required.
