The Role: As an Assistant Accountant, you will assist in management accounts, ensuring correct allocation of costs, and providing detailed financial analysis when needed. This Assistant Accountant role is a superb chance to join a team with a long track record of developing, training, and promoting internally.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and posting of pre and post-month-end overhead journals
- Analyse financial data in order to allocate out the relevant charges received and investigate any variances between actual costs and budgets
- Report on monthly charges and overhead costs to internal management in order to inform business decisions
- Preparing and assisting with FA month-end journals and FA additions from WIP
- Investigate and resolve between invoices received and allocation of costs to branches
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Recommend new processes and procedures where appropriate in order to increase efficiency and accuracy
This role offers the opportunity of flexibility, working from home but you should be within commutable distance of our newly refurbished offices in Crick, Northamptonshire to attend meetings as required.

Skills and competencies- Experience of working within a financial team
- AAT qualified or similar
- A desire to undertake a professional qualification (think ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Clear and concise knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
- High level of attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles
