Come and join us as a Branch Sales Assistant and Driver on a flexible hours basis to help us grow, deliver sales and exceed customer expectations. You will be committed to delivering an outstanding level of service and will be professional, driven and enthusiastic. The Driver and Branch Sales Assistant role reports into the branch management team and will provide the highest level of service to internal and external customers, delivering products to customers against tight deadlines.

The role is customer facing within the branch, serving on the trade counter and dealing with customers over the telephone to ensure the best service and maximise sales at every opportunity. You will be contracted to a set minimum number of hours per week and will be required to be flexible to work additional hours to deliver the best customer experience, especially during the peak trading winter heating season. Where possible, hours and shifts will be agreed with you with plenty of notice so that you know exactly what you are doing and when. You will promote and embrace an inclusive team environment and you are expected to enjoy your work along the way.

Please note, this role requires you to have the appropriate driving licence with previous experience as a driver.

Responsibilities
  • Health and safety of yourself and your vehicle
  • Maintenance and condition of your vehicle
  • Report any issues or incidents to your line manager
  • Comply with transport and supporting regulations
  • Support the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager with achieving and exceeding sales targets at optimum margins
  • Maintain high standards, create and maintain a loyal customer base and provide a first-class service
  • Assist with general duties within the branch such as serving customers on the trade counter, telesales and ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained on the trade counter and warehousing
Qualifications
  • Clean driving licence and previous driving experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of products in the plumbing and heating industry is advantageous
  • Flexibility with working hours and a customer-focused approach to meeting branch needs
