Our client is looking for a Street Cleaner to join their operations team based in York City Centre, with an immediate start. This is a full time role, 37 hours a week, working Wednesday to Sunday, with some early morning starts. Initially the role is for 3 months, with the opportunity of going permanent. The rate of pay is £12.77 per hour. There are additional unsociable hours and weekend enhancements on the rate of pay. PPE clothing will be provided.
You MUST:
- Hold a current full UK driving licence
- Be used to working outdoors
- Be physically fit
- Comfortable dealing with members of the public
- Happy to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
The purpose of this role is to carry out street cleansing within the city centre, the role will involve:
- Driving mechanical sweepers/washers
- Working with a range of pedestrian controlled mechanical equipment
- De-littering allocated areas (pavements, roadways and street furniture) using both mechanical and manual methods
- Working outdoors in all weathers all of the time and there will be daily contact with dirt, dust and traffic noise.
