Our client has a great opportunity for HGV/LGV drivers. If you want to be rewarded for loyalty, enjoy managing your workload, being outdoors and have excellent people skills, please get in touch.
This is a temporary role for 3 months, potentially longer. The hours of work are 7.00am – 3.00pm, Monday to Friday and pay rate is £14.26 per hour.
Your duties will include;
- Operating a variety of waste collection vehicles, using safe and efficient driving techniques and adhere to clients’ requirements.
- Assisting with delivering an efficient waste collection and disposal service within York.
- Observing health and safety requirements and be responsible for the safety of the crew, yourself and members of the public.
- Working within a team of waste loaders and assist with loading duties when needed.
You will need:
- Driver CPC Qualification
- Driving Experience
- Full Category C Driving Licence
- Class 2 Driving Licence
- Experience of working long periods with sustained physical effort
- Experience of using a Digital Tachograph Card
- Ability to work as part of a team
Previous experience with waste or recycling would be an advantage, but the client will be offering in-house, on the job training. As well as this, instruction on various vehicles they operate will be given.
