We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Highway Asset Management Team to help assist in the delivery of the highway basic maintenance service across City of York.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operational delivery of basic maintenance reactive repairs and maintenance programmes for highway assets, carriageways, footways, and cycle paths.
  • Help the Highway Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager and Site Agents to manage and maintain the highway asset.
  • Be involved in organising and inputting invoices and raising purchase orders to provide equipment and materials to allow our operational teams to carry out essential highway maintenance work to keep the highway safe.
  • Assist in providing technical support for highway basic maintenance works orders and annual capital schemes. Must be proficient and experienced in Excel spreadsheets and MS Office suite of software programmes.
  • Help assist in coordinating and facilitating third party claims process and working with highway safety inspectors to deal with customer enquiries.
  • Liaise with members of the public, Ward Members, Parish Councils and Residents Associations to promote works and deal with any resulting enquiries.

Qualifications

Having great interpersonal and organisational skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, you will have some experience working in the highway environment. However, if you have other experience, you think will make you the ideal candidate, please apply.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
